Germogliati Semi, An Artistic Dialogue with Joseph Beuys

Some exhibitions are best understood through words. Others through images, movement, atmosphere and the people who bring them to life.

Our Germogliati Semi Showreel offers a visual glimpse into the exhibition and the artistic dialogue that unfolded around Joseph Beuys in L’Aquila.

Presented at the Orto Botanico di Collemaggio, Germogliati Semi. Omaggio a Joseph Beuys brought together 35 Italian and international artists whose practices respond to Beuys’ enduring ideas around creativity, ecology, society and collective responsibility. Curated by Antonio Gasbarrini and Mariano Cipollini, the exhibition formed part of the sixth edition of Seminiamo Arte, directed by Lea Contestabile and Antonio Gasbarrini, and was presented by MuBAq, Museo dei Bambini L’Aquila with the support of the Comune dell’Aquila.

The showreel captures fragments of this encounter: artworks within the botanical landscape, materials and textures, movement through the exhibition, and the individual artistic voices that make the project more than a tribute to Beuys.

A Living Network of Artists

The exhibition brings together very different generations, backgrounds and artistic approaches.

Alessandro Antonucci, Paola Babini, Rosetta Berardi, Vito Bucciarelli, Mirta Carroli, Mario Costantini, Gianfranco D’Alonzo, Paolo Dell’Elce, Yvonne Ekman, Marco Fioramanti, Giampiero Gigliozzi, Okan Gökgöz, Jörg Grünert, Cam Lecce, Francesco Guadagnuolo, Hans-Hermann Koopmann, Mauro Magni, Mandra Cerrone, Carola Masini, Davide Medri, Massimo Pellegrinetti, Massimo Piunti, Enrico Pulsoni, Romanoleli, Paola Romoli Venturi, Virginia Ryan, Paolo Spoltore, Silvia Stucky, Cinzia Colombo, Tiziana Tacconi, Stefano Trappolini, Patrizia Trevisi, Barbara Uccelli, Wang Yongxu and Cervo Zoppo.

Rather than presenting a single interpretation of Beuys, their works create a field of different perspectives — connected by questions of nature, memory, society, materiality and the possibility of transformation.

KULA Berlin × Germogliati Semi

As media partner, KULA Berlin accompanies the project beyond the exhibition itself.

The showreel is the beginning of a continuing editorial series featuring artist portraits, interviews, studio visits and photographic stories. Each feature looks beyond the finished artwork to explore the people, processes and ideas behind it.

For us, documentation is not simply about recording what happened.

It is about creating a space for dialogue.

Through photography, film and conversation, KULA Berlin connects the exhibition in L’Aquila with an international audience, extending the encounter beyond the physical garden and creating an evolving archive of the artists involved. The artists are not simply names within an exhibition catalogue. They are individual voices, practices and perspectives.

This series gives each of them space to speak.
